The Witcher

We binged the whole 8 hours of it last night and today. First couple episodes, I was thinking ooooohhh shit, this gonna be decent. I played all the games, never read any of the books, but it had familiar characters and monsters. It was all downhill from there. 4/10 and that's being generous because I like the lore.

I had a feeling this was going to be the case. Anyhow, looking forward to not looking forward to it. I just don't like being hurt..

I heard the red-head cutie is played by a black girl.. wtf, no thanx

You mean Triss Merigold I guess. Not a ginger in this series. The chick who plays yennefer is hot, and she is naked ALOT if that helps.

The forced inclusiveness is distracting but it's Netflix so what do you expect.

The Witcher started out as short stories for a literature magazine and then as they gained popularity grew into world building and then a series of novels. The Last Wish is a collection of many of the short stories, and I get that vibe from the Season 1 Netflix series. There's a lot of names and places and rules and things thrown at you, and to someone not as knowledgeable in how it all makes sense it probably sounds like a bunch of bullshit that just happens for the sake of it happening.

I think it's more like a 7/10. There's too much backstory and explanation for the setup they're trying to get to, which is the start of the books, for it to all be crammed into only 8 hours. But I think it has potential for sure.

Anyone remember the Dungeons and Dragons movie from years back? Comedy black guy in D&D movie, great idea right?

Just checking to see if you 4chan people have bled into cheap-looking TV show topics.
