After doing HoT in ToV for the past week I'm starting to believe that the silk armor for casters is much more rare than every other type of armor... something needs to be done for this, it's really not balanced!

In my experience, the leather is rarest followed by chain. Plate/Silk seem to drop the most (as they should, 4 classes need it vs 3).

I find it's the other way around, Silk/Chain seems to be dropping the rarest with Plate / Leather being common.

Yea although some nights it can be just one class mostly :)

This, we got 3 silk robes and 2 plate Bps in a 3-4 hour stretch.

I get BP,Silk and Leather for days. Leather more than anything else. Chain is least dropped for AG.

chain/leather the most rare for us, probably leather taking precedent.

Plate has traditionally the rarest for asgard, as well as leather.
Chain in the current more rare.

Before I aggressively acquired, my plate suit in september, We already had 3 Rogues a ranger and a shaman in full chain. Until in recent times chain was just about going to rot due to fully suited mains everywhere

we have had the complete opposite situation! almost 6 people now in full plate sets, only 1 person with full in chain and i think only 1 in a full leather set. we have equally as many in pull silk as plate. I know some monks that would kill for your luck !

My theory is that the drop % align closely with the # of classes that want that gear. So there are 5 plate classes (War, SK, Pal, Bard, Cleric), 4 silk (enc, mag, nec, wiz), 3 chain (rog, rng, sham) and 2 leather (druid, monk). This aligns closely with my experience in HOT, albeit some days the RNG makes it feel different.

I think partly you have an issue of selection bias though. Most guilds have very high demand for leather because of the number of monks out there, especially compared to SKs and Pals. So Plate feels like it drops way more because its basically warriors, clerics, and bards competing over it.

The real issue that I've seen is chain, since both the tunic and greaves are basically BIS for all three classes that can wear, but I've seen a decent drop rate over time for chain.
