You know what still drops? Plat. You know what doesn't? Pre-nerf CoS. People have spent years on this server pining for that one special item they always wanted and still don't have it because the BS and time is too much to get it. At least with Pre-nerf CoS all you have to do is farm things you were probably going to farm anyway and pay for it.

it's a good item for good players. others might not find it that valuable.

It is def better. It is one of the more useful necro items in game. Most necro gear just does't matter that much
Also Veeshan's Peak hijinks (p sure this is what caused the nerf on live). Sure you can use a few rings of shadows but this one is always charged.

Hey, at least you aren’t a new monk on the server and have to pay 400k for beads.

I started shortly after Velious and am lucky to have got beads for 50k + fungi and pre-nerf CoS for 7k right before they got nerfed. Though now my account is banned so I guess it doesn’t really do me any good anyways.

Want it for "oh shit" moments? You have FD.

Want it for charm breaking? You can use the post-nerf easily. Or goblin ring, if you absolutely must have insta break (but you have to select yourself, so it's not really insta)

Being able to insta-click invis is invaluable in ways that you don’t understand until you can do it. Getting a GGR was game changing for my enc, and a prenerf CoS is an objectively better GGR because it’s clickable from inventory and always casts on yourself (no targeting issues).

VP hijinx aside (and there are only a few guilds on the server that do VP), being able to instant invis is so incredibly useful always.
