ok so let me get this strait

p99 made original EQ even more fucked up.
reduced the XP lower the 1999
reduced spawn rate in lowbie areas. WHY?
Don't allow boxing. which I did in original. YET clearly allow some to do this. this is frequent.
clearly allow people to run bots without discipline.
I guess as long as you have your / commands none of this matter.
…….
wish someone would make a decent server.
not god mode
and
not worse then original EQ

Is this that guy who kept training that other guy at sister isle, then threatened to quit the game, and then continued to post stupid bullshit like the OP?

Checking for an acquaintance.

This is an interesting one.

Many newbie zones on live used a spawn mechanic not entirely dissimilar to the ancient croc in guk: you have to find and kill a bunch of linked mobs to respawn them - that is none of them will respawn until the whole group is killed at which point they all respawn at the same time (generally at random locs but you can see the mechanic best in paineel where the groups respawn at shared static points).

This means the respawn time of a newbie area ends up being pretty dynamic and dependant on how busy the area is - with just few people the area will be sparsely populated with mobs as it is unlikely all mobs of one group are killed together, but if the zone is busy there will be constant waves of fresh spawns.

Now p1999 doesn’t have this mechanic in newbie zones, it just has single mobs on fixed spawns with fixed timers. This works fine most the time, but when the zone is busy it results in people waiting for respawns. This is why the spawn rate was temporarily increased: to imitate how well stocked on live newbie zones would remain when busy.

If you see someone botting or boxing, report them. GMs will take care of them.

This. People seem to forget that the staff is comprised of UNPAID VOLUNTEERS who have real jobs and real lives.

We don't have some full time staff sitting on ther server 24/7 running around watching everybody (even on live back in the day we couldn't run around monitoring everybody - you monitor if you receive a petition about it).

This is one of the dumbest posts I've seen in awhile. Guessing it's Toeking back for more, the guy is sad lol.

P99 has coded in difficulty spikes.
You know those times roots break back to back, while normally it just stays active, maybe the occasional break.
Or those times charm keeps breaking over and over, while normally it just stays active, maybe the occasional break.

You can spend all day fighting the same mobs who don't have high resists but as soon as the rng difficulty kicks in for a few seconds to minutes. It's harder to land or stick.

That's the RNG background code that P99 uses to simulate classic's hardcore feel.
Also this rng is zone independent. So the bad luck doesn't happen in all zones at the same time.

They're quite good at getting rid of botters

https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...d.php?t=359216

Audena appears to have been nuked now. Not been on in over a week.

They hit 50, which is when a lot of folks disappear

perhaps botted to 50 and then shelved it til kunark, to use it as a coth character, might have no reason to log back onto it until then.
