Official Green Server Thread - October 2019
 

With the official announcement of a new p99 experience coming October 2019 we should have a place to discuss it!

What will happen to blue/red?
What class/race will you play this time around?

Been awaiting this announcement for years and I cannot contain my excitement!

They didn't say "Green" though.

So the official expansion release timeline for vanilla up to Luclin launch is just under three years. (Launch 3/16/99, Kunark 4/24/00, Velious 12/5/00, Luclin 12/4/01.)

Why merge? After the full timeline just leave green running and launch a second green. There's a lot of concerns about selling green loot rights with blue currency, if we knew that green will not merge into blue this might be lessened since the future value of blue plat would be in question.

After the second three year cycle you can decide what to do (merge second green into first green and start green2 over?). If this means the people sitting on millions of plat on blue are increasingly marginalized and the place becomes a ghost town, so be it. If population is low on green and many people prefer to stay on blue, then maybe merging into blue makes more sense for starting green over and over.

Its hard to know what effect on populations this will have, so I'm not sure its imperative that there needs to be an ultimate plan for the fate of green toons immediately on launch. Some people would shriek about this uncertainty, but overall anyone inclined to play green will do it regardless of any plan for the green server once July of 2021 rolls around.

I'm out of the loop. Where was that mentioned by a P99 dev/GM?

I've heard rumors of a "green" server, but thought it was all wishful thinking.

Check announcements, its confirmed. (There's going to be about 100 posts like this today of people who didn't check that before posting.)

I think I will make that troll shaman i have been wanting to make for the better part of 4 years once green comes out : ) Very excited! Only 6 months to get all my affairs in order so I can disappear for a few months of crazy grindin' :P

Do I continue the tradition of making a Dark Elf as my main or do I be different with a Dwarf Fighter or Cleric? Hmm fresh start.

Haven't played in probably a year or so, what is this new server? How will it differ from Blue?
