Iksar Necro level 1 - 60 all in Kunark
 

I've played EQ off and on since the early Kunark days in 2000. I've always enjoyed Kunark, FoB, Kurn's Tower, KC, LOIO, etc.. but usually spend short period of times there. Just in the past couple weeks, I've finally found interest in doing quests and taking my time leveling a character (only to level 17) to play with a couple friends of mine once a week on a scheduled night. Now that I found it enjoyable, I was thinking of deleting my low level Erudite Necro and rolling an Iksar Necro with the intent of playing only in Kunark, do quests, no twinking, no plat transfers, etc..

I guess I'm looking for advice from people who have done this. Are there particular quests I should do? Any I shouldn't do? Zones I should focus on? Mobs I should kill for certain items?

As a note: On Project 1999, I've never been above level 37. On live back in the day I was max level of 54. On live most recently, I was level 87. So, I've never been max level...

Oh yeah, I've seen them running around and know a little about them. Certainly possible. Know much about them?

They basically only wear gear that is lootable at their respective level. The opposite of twinking!

1 - 10: FOB
10 - 20: Kurns
20 - 25: Warslik's Woods Giant Fort
25 - 35: you have options here, but Overthere is a pretty good bet given how open it is on the eastern side of the zone.
35 - 40: Frontier Mountains Giant Fort is a nice spot for easy fear kiting
40 - 45: Kaesora library / church. (I know, 45 may be pushing it. . . but it's doable. Stock up on Deadwood Staves for your pets while you have the chance)
45 - 51: Bloodgill Gobbos in LOIO (You can come here before 45 if you feel like Kaesora is slowing down too much)
51 - 60: Howling Stones

Overthere is amazing from 30 until 40+...

At 34 you get Call of Bones and you can become indifferent to the outpost. You can use that to turn in the whips the Sarnak Bezerker's drop. Not only is the xp great from the turn in, you will also raise your faction high enough to get an OT hammer by the time you are in your early 40's. It won't proc till 50... but you got it.

FYI- nothing wrong with this suggestion in terms of exp etc., but Necros can just charm the foreman and do the hammer quest without any factioning.

Don't sleep on the sythrax in fob from 35-40

Sythrax are awesome from 28 to 40 (max 41).

The first spawn is always 27.

But without Jboots it's gonna be a bumpy ride.
