Why is he a moron though?

He's a moron because he thinks an empirically tested non-carcinogen caused his cancer.

I've been spraying glyphosate on the weeds in my country house garden for years.

Couple years ago I took all forms of glyphosate I had in my posession and got rid of it. I might be a moron as well, but the amount of local farmers I know who are living with or dying from cancer motivated my decision.

They all use or used glyphosate massively for decades.

Without even starting to consider all the rumours about Monstano paying scientists to lie about the dangers of the product, remember that the science evolves.

Asbestos, radioactivity, lead, DDT and smoking tobacco were not deemed dangerous before the science established the contrary.

People are dying of cancer because we've been extending the human lifepsan for so long by beating all the other things that would normally kill us.

Absolutely. People now live longer because medicine progressed immensely, and because we discovered that some stuff is dangerous for humans, namely:
- Tobacco
- Asbestos
- Lead
- Mercury
- PM25 / PM10
- Aluminium
- Trans fats
- Glyphosate
- etc etc

By knowing it, and acting accordingly, our lifespan got extended.
