I know why

I've figured out why nobody is posting!
You guys are busy watching real football going on right now in Las Vegas.
A few points to remember.
  1. The field is smaller with less outer runoff.
  2. It is the very first games of our season.
  3. Both teams have a team and reserves. You both attack AND defend depending on the run of play.

Some numbers.
Out of 40,000 tickets sold 25,000ish are Aussies/NewZealanders, a further 10,000ish believed to be superleague/poms.
So 5k yanks want to look (another 5k may be walkins partway through).
One commentator said thats not many, another (who was cut off) said "well, there is some betting going on..."

The field being smaller discourages corner shenanigans (a large part of some plays) many vectors with 3-4 large men at speed end up 3 meters outside the field of play. And many meters behind the ingoal.

There is only 2 games. We usually get 6 or 7 (depending on number of teams in comp). But bet365 is a major sponsor so well... anywho.

Betting fucks everything (sports related).
Proves me wrong.

Sidenote:
The 13 yr old is really trying to interest me in your NFL.
He is failing. He loves the nfl ps5 game. But i take him to his rugby union games he plays and he shuts up. He is pretty good at fullback (IMHO) and that's what worries me.
Good times.

I thonk NFL be strategic.

I love baseball tho. Tis my favorite "sport".

I dunno shit about rugby except it's a great way to get a metal plate in ur skull. Free cosmetic scalp advance I guess if u got a decent surgeon.

Don't drink the casinos dry.

Mike Ditka owns the lingerie football league now.

Also Allegiant Stadium holds way more than 40k.

Here's an idea, its never a good idea to show weakness to ya (especially) teenage kids. Howabout one of you tutor me in the nfl. Like what the actual fuck does 15 and down mean? Why does the toosh push work?
Id never admit it to the boy.
I understand gettin the ball past the try line (touchdown) bit. Goals are self explanatory. But if i knew a fraction of what the hell he is on about i may gain an interest. And sound cool.

What say you? Edjumacate an antipodean why dontcha.

I get that bit. We get 90k for our big games. Thats 90k x 12 (the pop difference between here and there) for 1 million... so there is that. I also get that fields are only so big so there is not likely to be 1 million at a Soup-A-Bowl game.
Come back when ya growd up.

What say you? Challenge accepted? Teach a dumb cunt complex strategic gameplay. I'll repay in kind if you like.

Also i think ALL nfl games are played in "lingerie" so there's that.
Change my mind. Please. I need my son to love me!

I'd argue Baseball is more strategic than American Football but that might be my bias showing as Baseball is also my favorite sport.

Sadly though it's being destroyed with ridiculous rule changes. Over 100 years of us playing it the same way and they want to introduce pitch clocks and ghost runners. Its unfortunate but MLB died in 2020.

On the American football bit...idk if that's why nobody is posting. I think it's more likely that everyone has been banned and so it's just the same 20 people posting, and we can only post so much. Idk how interesting the sport is when I hear more about Taylor swift and the NFL than the NFL itself.

Evia missing the point again. Thanks for your input though. Quality exudes from it as usual.

The offense gets 4 tries("downs") to gain 10 yards to earn another set of 4 tries to gain 10 yards. This repeats until the offense scores or gives up the ball via turnover, turnover on downs, or a punt(field position matters strategically).

If it's higher than 10 you lost yardage somehow, whether by being tackled behind the starting line("line of scrimmage", I think you call this a scrum) or a penalty or whatever.

Agreed totally.

OG baseball was a highly skilled sport. All the dumb rules r to make it "fair". Cuz not every team can get a triple AAA set of players.

I get the baseball strategy better than the NFL. Butt there is quite some diversity of "plays" there. That'd probably change if I played as a coach in a solid vidya game.

I was too dumb to play NFL style ball well cuz I always struggled with teamwork in the fast pace of plays.

It's a good game just not muy cuppa.
