This is "classic," but not that (your favorite "#ButClassic" rulings)

What are your favorite calls on what is classic and what is not?

Here is my current one:

Quote:

50%+ of the server bind @ firepots even though in classic it was very few

BUT

2-3 people cannot do normal classic quests to grind lots of exp, even though everyone grinded some levels via exp quests in classic
Quote:

"Quest exp bad. We want people to gain their levels naturally, via killing monsters"

BUT

*leaves in South Karana Bread Quest on Beta for eons as druids/wizards exclusively quest exp grind levels 20-50+*
Both are classic mechanics. Both were used to a greater degree than classic... #ButClassic

What is yours? Feel free to steal the above format.

Can we all just accept that Rogean and Nilbog no longer care about classic EverQuest as priority #1 (even though you used to be able to "set your clock" to that fact here) ...

... and just move on and enjoy our deliberately unclassic (but hey, still way more classic than live) free server?

P.S. As an "old timer" here, I do understand the anguish. For ten years this place was run by a version of Nilbog who once promised (prior to the release of Blue, not Green):

Quote:

- Kunark and Velious, when open, will also be classic material.

But even if management has changed their priorities in the decade-plus that they've been volunteering their time and effort to run this place, and server firsts now matter more to them than classic EQ ... again, we still get a free server, and it's still better than anything else out there.

The more we complain about the unclasic bits here (which will go back to being classic someday), the more it's just going to bring everyone down, and make us remember that "classic EQ" used to be priority #1 here ... so given the season let's just be thankful for what we have: an amazing, incredible server, where classic EQ is still priority #2.

before that it was /list camps and how /list until someone dies (because it fits Castle's obessive playstyle) was the only good way to go about it

before that it was manastone, manastone, manastone.

Server is exquisite, no doubt.

I think people genuinely enjoy some of the non-classic changes, no doubt.

I also think people get boggled about classic v unclassic. Forums are an avenue for people to discuss.

This isn't a thread about quest exp specifically - just a related idea.

Feel free to share your own instead of derailing thread.x

cd28, I'm on vacation. I haven't had to go into an office (that wasn't a client's) for 10+ years.

Fooljin, I haven't seen any of your guys anywhere, so I don't know where you've been seeing me ;)

Ok, now back on topic. Favorite #ButClassic.
