No logging in after 4pm

So this problem started for me last week. Its important to say it "started" last week because that can exclude some fixes that people may have. I cant log in anytime in the evening or the rest of the night. If I stay logged in all day I can play but restarting eq in the early evening will lock me out for the rest of the night. After the login screen I get a couple different messages. login error is common, or it freezes on that login mini screen (which is the most annoying cause I have to cntl-alt-del to restart eq) OR it logs me into the server select where no servers ever pop up. If I try it 100+ times I may even get a server to pop up but I have no characters on my account or it says my spell files are out of date which isnt true. It all works the next morning just fine. There are 743 people on right now so it cant be a population thing thats not very much. Does anyone else have this problem? What is really going on because these are prime time usa hours and Im locked out for the night every single night starting last week. No amount of closing eq completely and trying again works. I get a lot of people telling me it eventually works just keep restarting. Listen, it doesnt work, given 100+ times for the night. Its not that same issue. This new issue started for me last week.

Sounds like it might be an ISP thing? Like metered internet or maybe the connection's just overloaded...but if you can log in any other time, I'd check on your internet first.

I am not on a metered internet. I just did a speed test its showing
Ping
5 ms
Download
42.81 Mbps
Upload
21.63
This is fiber optics internet. Not sure what else to try, internet techs will just say the internet is working fine and fast as can be. Maybe the p99 servers run better with a slower aol dial up or something. Though, its been working fine for about a year now

Have this exact thing happen. Sometimes DC while zoning during this time and can't get back in again. Extremely annoying, and surprising more aren't seeing this.

Does make me wonder if it's somehow related to the old 'unknown error' issue, since I will sometimes get all the way to picking a server and then get that error (when I don't get one of the other ones described in the OP).

I changed my DNS to the google DNS servers the google DNS servers and it seems to have fixed it. BTW I'm in the south east on comcast, and have had server hop problems in the past.

Hmm, thanks for the recommendation (if that was for me) but didn't help any =/

I kind of figured posting here would be useless.

- Multi-boxing is not allowed. Players are only allowed to play one client per RL person. We will be enforcing this rule and we ask for everyone’s co-operation to just abide by our wishes. Breaking this rule will result in a ban.

This doesn't sound like the issue I'm having. The server was kicking a lot of people off last night and many could not log back in either. I will continue posting technical problems as I find them so that they can be fixed. But if you don't have an answer or cannot be of any help don't post a reply just for the sake of doing it

Also I don't appreciate being accused of something I haven't done, neither do you.

I do have an ip exemption & my boyfriend & I play together as often as possible. If the staff is under the impression we are multi boxing & suspending me at random then it needs to be resolved. A guide needs to show up on the spot & put us through a 2 box test or whatever they do to determine I have violated the rules. But we have not been approached by any staff ever. If that was true I would have to ask why they even exempt anyone if you are guilty until proven innocent, and then never get to be put on trial.

So if this "suspension around 4pm random days" is linked to multi boxing I will need to get it resolved in game please. And the rules page needs to be updated to reflect that you aren't banned but have connection issues a lot. If this issue is not linked to multi boxing then aazel is a liar, & sezaru is a false accuser either way. You have to be known for something I guess.

Ignore the trolls. Thread has been cleaned up

Do both accounts experience the same issue around 4pm? Are you wireless or wired? If wireless can you reproduce the issue when wired after 4pm?
