Returning Ranger question Diety (Blue)
 

Just came back to the game after a couple years and I have a 32 Ranger who currently has Karana as their diety. Ive done some Research and people tend to say always be Tunare for the helm of the tracker. Should I reroll at this point or continue to play the 32? I do hope to get a ranger to 60. Is the helm that much of a game changer or are there other options on the same level/better?

Why did you choose to roll Karana?

Not sure I made the character 3 years ago, prob just randomly chose a diety, maybe it had to do with starting City? Not sure. But either way is the reroll worth it for the helm

Don't think there's anything close to the Helm of the Tracker as far as the effort to obtain needed / reward ratio is concerned.

However, it has a graphic and some people (including myself) don't like it very much. Depending on that, it might, or might not be a concern to you.

Not sure there are other important deity concerns for a ranger.

I have a Karana ranger, just to be different. I find the wood elf Tunare helmet to look completely stupid.

Reroll human Tunare. Helm is too sweet to pass up and Looks awesome on them

If you have no particular attachment and would enjoy revisiting the levels you have already done then I don’t see a reason not to start a tunare ranger if this is a hat you’d like to wear.

At the end of the day it’s just a hat though. While the effort vs reward is good, you won’t be gimping your character by not having one, and better hats are available if you really want.

What are the odds you play for a while and then quit again for another 3 years? Do you really want to grind out those 32 levels again or do you want to experience new content?

Unless you know you are going to be min maxing your character and have a magelo of gear going, I'd 100% not re-roll.

I say this as a Tunare Ranger.

If this was a classic or kunark expansion I’d probably keep pushing. In the current state, getting a ranger to 32 with a decent weapon (or even a Silver Swiftblade) is very easy without the xp penalty and with panic animal. Frankly at 22 with the oasis (crocs), east karana (gorge hounds), Overthere (tigers/rhinos), Wakening Land (tigerraptors) you can boringly blaze to high 40’s with mediocre gear. Rangers do as good if not better than sk’s reverse/fear-kiting until the low 50’s when animal options get slim. At 25-35 you can burn those levels quick in Highkeep Goblins too.

As for the helm, some custom velious helm’s can look silly. The stats and benefits especially to a human are really nice unless you have really high-end options. Even then the Tracker is basically free. If I didn’t have one I’d likely have a tranix crown.
