Exp gains broke?
 

Me and a buddy are duoing exclusively with some new toons. We've started at the same level with same amount of time played. Currently, he's 3 levels higher than i am, working on being 4 higher. Im a troll shaman, he's a dwarf warrior both in the 30's. I know he has a bonus from being a warrior and i have a penalty from being a troll, but shouldn't everything be split between us? Like shouldn't i share my penalty and he share his bonus, so we should be leveling at the same speed no? Anyways, just curious if something is broken or if this the way it's always been, cause i dont feel like it has been. Thanks.

This is the way its always been?

Troll has an exp penalty (-20%) and thus levels slower.
Warrior has an exp advantage (+10%) and thus levels faster.

Shaman and Dwarf have a 0% exp modifier.

The only exp penalty that affects groups is the hybrid exp penalty. But people will argue I'm wrong about this.
Everyone else's exp +/- only affects themselves.
