Alternative EQ experiences
 

After playing this game for years and years.....I’m looking for suggestions on playing the game differently.

Kinda like how ALS has you leveling a character without using the ec market, I’m looking for similar alternatives to experiencing the game.

Some ideas I’ve come up with that sound fun...

-twink a new character up with a fungi and NOTHING else. Make them collect trash loot and save up for all the other pieces of gear. This would be fun because I could solo or group the character and still get the rewarding upgrade feeling as I leveled the character up.

-take my rogue through all the classic, Kunark, and velious dungeons on a solo assassination adventure. Taking screen shots and collecting loot. Seeing named mobs I’ve never seen and try my hand at dicey solo attempts.

Any other ideas? Or anybody else create a weird way to play EQ that was a little less traditional?

I did alot solo dungeon'ing on my rogue but mostly before I hit 60, to farm stuff to sell and for the adventure. I remember I enjoyed getting the Ghoulbane fex.

With lvl 60, epic, fungi, root nets etc theres some fun possibilites I reccon

When I ding 60 on my wiz Im gonna see how far I can get up the tower of frozen shadow solo, never been there yet. Its fun to take a class thats not particularly a soloist into the depths/tops of dungeons! Good luck

I often make my own quests.
as a new iksar, get a full set of curscale armor, even when you don't get exp for it.
sit at the FP dock and fish your way to the top.
get sense heading to 200 before lvl 6
just crap like that....often.
Get Paineel faction to the highest lvl from killing green mobs in the warrens.
Go into balck burough and collect a full bag of fangs in your late 20s.
on and on.
there are lots of nonsense things I do.

Level a character to 60 without ever equipping a single piece of gear.

Please be safe and bank a key or few on a 1st floor corpse lol.

Personally I've long though that it would be a fun project to compile a set of "Achievements" in the wiki, and then make a set of checkbox lists for them so people could mark their progress on visiting every zone in the game, or whatever ... but I've never had the energy to start it.

Or just have your level 60 alt camped nearby to come re-kill all the key mobs for you every CR (a terribly inefficient solution, but it works ok in a pinch for the first couple floors.)

A play thru were u are only allowed to do your own research use ur own paper notebook you make while playing and no internet, web research (from memory is OK) but for me this would be pretty insane lol as i have zero memory
