If you have any questions or need any clarifications on the rules, please feel free to post them here and I'll do my best to answer. Our last gnome race had 200+ gnomes, I want to see 300+ this time!

Stickied.

So rule #5 prevents Gnomish genocide due to the inclusion of rule #3. Got it.
However... for others- not participating Gnomes, and those certain people with an inclination towards PVP tendencies; this means there will be a couple hundred newbie sacrifices traveling from a known starting location, to a known destination, along an established route.
Being genuinely and truly unfamiliar with such an event, is it evil of me to think in such terms- or is this a given, and just another obstacle to have to overcome?

This will be the 4th gnome race that I have organized on Green. The very first one was limited to a specific guild, and another guild made a ton of level 1 SKs and ambushed them at the freeport zone line. This was hilarious, and really didn't impact the race too much, but everyone understood it was one guild essentially trolling another.

For the next three races it has been opened up to be a serverwide event so everyone can participate. A race is typically a pretty low barrier of entry event for anyone to join, and I love hearing stories of newer players to the server winning prizes. Folks interfering can really put a damper on things.

In the past we've had several ways to counter people trying to interfere, from PVP flagged high level bards chaperoning the race to GMs/Guides who assist and make sure folks don't ruin things for everyone else.

Gotcha. Not that I would condone such activity... ahem... but just wanted to see what the typical protocol was in such an endeavor.

Best of luck to ya. It does sound like lots of fun.

I am guessing this is now canceled? I hope not its always a fun event!

zags 02-06-2021 11:23 PM

Absolutely not, why would it be cancelled?

Lostfaction 02-07-2021 01:15 AM

I was told community events are all canceled on green. Glad that isn't the case!
