Question About Permafrost Bear Pits Since Patch

I know in the February 2019 patch, #46, it was listed with Permafrost: Removed extra spawns, added missing ones, changed injured polar bear spawn mechanics.

Before this patch, I was bouncing in and out of the Bear Pits but I haven't been able to play since this patch was released.

I remember this thread, https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...d.php?t=317144
and was curious if it's more of a pain now to get into the pits and about where to bind or if it's easier? I know a lot of Druids complained about the new mob being added where you would drop-down and bind.

I only need a level and half to 60 so I'll even take suggestions of other zones to check and grind out for the remaining XP.

Thank you...

There is a spawn right where everyone used to bind. If you are still bound there, ask someone to invis you as you're gating. The opposite wall from the old bind spot is now safe. As for killing in there since the patch, I haven't done it yet myself.

So I take it that running past the giants, dropping down the pit, binding and gating out is not going to work now. I don't picture having enough time to dropping down the pit, rooting the mob, running to the opposite wall, binding and gating out before everything coming down to destroy me will work either.

you should have enough time to do that, also use egress, faster cast time.

It takes the giants a little bit to make it around. If you're super worried, pick up a WC cap for insurance incase the giants make it to you before successful evac.

Running down, dropping in, binding and gating works just fine. Most the time the pits are camped anyways so the spawn isnt even up but even if it is... ive done this several times without agroing it. Even if it does, you could just root it, bind then bounce. You've got plenty of time.

Just go quad othmirs in CS until 60.. 10x easier, 10x more relaxing, 10x more money. Outdoors. Near Dragon Rings. It's a win every way you look at it!

But the pits are faster AND you won't get attacked every time you head to WW.

Damn the man, save the othmir!

With levitate you should be well out of aggro radius of those Othmir.

57+ I honestly did most of my levels charming in WW. They have more hp but they also hit each other harder. Kill time is a bit longer but they’re all dark blue even at 60. A bit more xp per kill. It is a comparable xp rate and has the perk of being outdoors for buffs like sow and more room to wiggle around. Requires non-kos to CoV. If you get up to amiable/warmly you can use wolf form without getting aggro.

Very little competition in the zone.

Only things to keep an eye out for are the burrowers and (rarely) the rare velium hounds. Both have epic aggro radius. Burrowers are massive - you have to be asleep at the wheel or playing stupidly to get aggro on them. The hounds are smaller and run wickedly fast. Even with snare they move at nearly jboot speed. Hounds are by far the best dps though. When I did find one I preferred using them on the leeches.

Downsides? Animals and CoV trash seem to share spawn tables. Hunt there long enough and animal mobs get near impossible to find.

Perks? With practice you can kill those burrowers. Great option if you’re lowish on animal mobs. Silks don’t stack but I never had a hard time finding buyers for 1-1.5k a pop. Occasionally I could find a buyer for the monk chest piece for 2-3k. Selling them involved cold calling higher level non-anonymous monks and offering the loot rights (plus port/evac/escort/drop-off-after service. Between silks and armor I probably made 40-50k from 57-60.

With the exception of the leeches it’s relaxed, and I appreciated that.
