Rogue Primary/Secondary
 

Hi All,

New to the rogue class. In reading some posts, seems general recommendation for low level twinking is to find a 13 dmg primary like Frozen shard and decent dmg/dly offhand.

I have about 5K to spend on weapons and was curious about some of the options below:

Primary:Frozen Shard (1k) 13/26
Sec: Venomous Sword of Velium Brood (1k) 11/24 + 85dd proc (or Trak Tooth, 10/20)

alternatively within my budget

Primary: Barbed Velium Spear (3.5k) 12/22
Sec: Folded Velium Sword (2k) 12/22

Clearly the second option has better dmg/dly, but curious if the extra backstab damage from the 13 dmg primary and proc on secondary makes that option worth considering? Or any other options I'm missing?

I'd suggest Frozen Shard + Folded Vel Sword. Best of both worlds without having the agro proc from the Veno Axe. (or if you wanted to up the game slightly, Seb. Croaking Dirk in offhand instead of Vel Sword). My 2cp

I just switched to Lath Drinor mainhand and Seb Dirk offhand and I am loving it. The combo should be within your budget. Check them out. Stay away from Winters Fury. I was sorely dissapointed. I'd be surprised if I can even resell it.

Just curious.. what's not to love about Winters Fury? The dmg/dly (0.56) looks pretty slick and better than SCD (0.55).

I should say it's a personal opinion. I'd take Lath Drinor or Seb Dirk over it any day. Maybe I'll give it another shot. I like the stats better on Lath though.

I skilled up 1hs with Winters Fury at the very least. It's useful for that without suffering dps.

The biggest problem with Winter's fury is the graphic. That may not matter to some but just beware that it has the rusty/finesteel longsword graphic.

I used a Trak tooth all the way to epic but I was poor as the rogue was my first character. There is also another 10/20 dagger from Chardok that I have seen for about 500p or so, the Sarnak Backstabber. Like a Trak tooth with a few stats.

I personally think your option #2 would be better if it's between those 2 setups.

some sort of 13/2X dmg MH and a crystalline short sword will take you to epic for only costing like 1500.

How cheap is the Serpent's Tooth off Yael on Blue?

Bought mine a while ago for 1k, I've seen them for around 1300-1400 these days though.
