random crashing while zoning, higher ms, blank server select!?!
 

ok well since the weekend i have basically had all the following things happen to be on a regular basis:

Blank sever select(75% of the time)
Crash when logging into a toon from char select screen(probably 50% of the time)
Crash while zoning in many random zones(10-20% of the time)
double the ms ping. Usually it was 62-64ms and now is regularly 116-125ms(100% of the time)

Nothing new has been introduced into my system or changed. Ive rebooted everything and p99 and the p99 webiste which is running slower then normal too are the only things that are effected. No other websites are loading slower and my speedtest is still hitting 23mb/s DL 4.5mb/s UL.

hmm what was changed between the v29 and v30 patch? i remember downloading the patch on the 8th and it was v29 when i did but now when i went to repatch just incase it was v30. once i did that i logged in fine but still have 129ms.

I'm confused about the whole v29 - v30 thing.

Rogean changed the file location and made it v30, but I don't know that there was an actual change from the 8th to when he moved the patch?

Then at some point it was changed to: http://www.project1999.org/files/P99Files30.zip

I didn't download again after the 8th.

I only noticed the change because people were complaining my instructions weren't working with the v29 link.

Maybe nothing was changed i was just wondering cause i just noticed it.

EXACT same things happening to me.

1. Zoning used to always take about 5-10 seconds, now it can be as quick as that or as slow as never successfully zoning at all (freezes).
2. Sometimes freezes when loading the game from character select screen.
3. Exactly double the ms ping. Used to be about 50, now is about 100.
4. Server select isn't blank, but it sometimes takes a while to connect to the server now, and when it does, sometimes it says my spell file is out of date. Simply quitting EQ and trying again usually works.
5. EDIT: Actually, server select is blank from time to time too.

Absolutely nothing has changed on my end. I logged off EQ one night, all was fine. Went to sleep, went to work the next day, came home and logged onto EQ and experienced all of the above. Computer wasn't touched between EQ sessions. Started about two days ago.

Yep thats how its working for me.

tbh i suspected it was to mess up bots, help detect hacking and fastswitchers; nfc what they did but it is beyond frustrating for an average user!

I've played on this server almost since day 1 and this has just started happening to me since the last patch as well. All the things you've described.

All of this same stuff has just started happening to me as well, within the last two days. Maybe we need to start listing some of our relevant hardware/software to find a common issue?
