When I turn in my brass earring a dwarven smith does not give me anything and the text has no brackets on it but it does say #Items not just Items.

Do you mean the shiny brass shield?

Pretty sure you never turn in a brass earring.

I think the shiny brass shield part is a separate optional mini-quest, and it only gives experience. Seems like a waste of a good shield to me.

I tried to edit the wiki to make this clearer.

Brass earrings goto various slaves in Crushbone. Earring has nothing to do with the Screaming Mace quest at all.
