Keystone XL Pipeline

The hydrocarbons will still be extracted but will now go in trucks, which is less environmentally friendly than a pipeline. Please explain why this makes sense. Use simple language, I am from flyover

More oil = more tech = less pollution

“Build more farms”

I know there was some buzz that because it was from tar sands, it was not cheep enough to produce that made trucking it worth it. Maybe that's changed. Maybe that was someone tricking me? Idk!

Maybe they'll truck it now, because they already invested so much under trump and now the strat is the green faction is just going to try to hurt t the oil factions bottom line?

It was my understanding the vast majority of it was going to be shipped to foreign investments anyway, just through the american harbor instead of maybe canadian, which it will be now?

Why did they build that pipe anyway?

Anywho, Idk if the rumors about all the oil being sold off to foreign countries after it traveled through the pipe is true, or if it was just propaganad I slurped up. But that was the messaging in 2015.

So who fricken knows.

I know that the thought process behind shutting down XL as far as the far left goes was "if we make oil hard enough to produce it will give green energy a leg up" so there is some stratigic nonsense there.

And also it's another dent in the armor of big oil, and that alone is a win for the people who are at war with them.

I honestly have no clue about what is reality or fake news though.

They’re going to ship it to China. Which is worse

The margins are minimal at pre pandemic prices, but marginal still means profit. I genuinely think keystone XL was better for the environment than the alternative, and north american extraction of jydrocarbons exerts a negative price pressure on Saudi, Russian, Venezuelan, and iranian oil. I see no way in which this opposition to pipeline expansion benefits anyone, except the native Americans as big J said

But I’m genuinely curious if there’s an economic or environmental argument. I don’t think there is

How do I embed YouTube clips? I still haven’t figured out how to post images so make your explanation rudimentary

Jibartik 01-22-2021 12:20 AM

bracket embed] (just the code after the = sign) [/embed]

I spelled bracket, but that's because if I used one, ( [ ) the text would try to embed that jiberish in between.

figuring that out was an elf topic group effort!

imperiouskitten 01-22-2021 12:27 AM

so you copy the youtube link, it looks like this:

youtube.com/watch?v=Sy-B7X9JP4o

take everything after the =, and put it in between [embed ] [ /embed] without spaces like [embed ]Sy-B7X9JP4o[ /embed]

images you just post the whole URL http:// ---- .png in between [img ][ /img], but it HAS to be hosted on imgur.com
