Getting to Cabilis from old world?
 

Is it possible, to get a lvl 9 Troll shaman from old world to Cabilis? If so what would be the best route to take. I assume I will be taking a port over but I am unsure where would be the best place to port to and then where to go from there.

This map I made long ago for P1999 may help, kinda depends where you are in the world, if you are near a wizard/druid portal or just want to leg it and take boats. Just con everything if you run and keep your distance. For zone maps check the wiki.

if you're getting a port then have them port you into Dreadlands and cast Invisibility/Levitate/SoW on you.... run with them over to Karnor's Castle, then have them cast their Evacuation spell to Emerald Jungle... (you can only cast the Emerald Jungle port from inside a Kunark dungeon, since it is an Evacuation spell)... then have them refresh your Lev and Invis, and run due west up the cliff wall in Emerald Jungle to the Field of Bone zoneline.

Or run/swim to the pots in TD and take the cabalis portal. You'll end up inside Cabalis at the LOIO zoneline

Sounds like a really bad idea.
Catching boat via oasis would be safe enough but after that you will have problems without invisibility getting through WW. (I presume you want to go to FOB) SOw obvously helps but still taking a big chance because of terrible line of sight.

Firepot room in TD will get you killed too without invisibility since you need to get past the guards. If you manage to overcome that then its a reasanobly safe run to the OT to get bound with SOW(through FM) Mobs will kill you but they are easy to avoid because of good line of sight.

Evacing to EJ is really dangerous. Plenty of undead to see through invis, plus theres nowhere for you to bind. (I suppose you could bind at COM. ugh crazy talk)

Just running to Overthere from the dreadlands port is probably safe enough assuming you know where you're going (which it sounds like you dont). Just make sure to get a levitate.

If you have an iksar you want to play with, far far easier to get them over to Antonica and level up there.

You can't bind anywhere . Stupid idea.

In your situation i'd say the best route would be to take the boat from Oasis to OT, then ask politely for someone to bind you at OT outpost and give you a sow or invis. From there, run to Warsliks and on to Field of Bone. There are patrolling shamans in WW who run at sow speed, and you can't see them coming because of the trees and terrain... invis is pretty important.

Non-iksar can be bound at the Kaesora ruins in Field of Bone.

I don't know why you would do this, though. You won't be able to get your spells, vendor, or bank for quite a while without help from other people. Just getting there in the first place and getting bound will require help.

Man that map really illustrates how some places are loaded with port-ins and others aren't. 4/19 Velious zones? Beats the crap outta 1/10 Odus zones or 3/26 Kunark zones.

where theres a will theres a way. i've gotten a level 1 woodelf ranger into HS to loot a no drop dagger. I didn't have a fancy escort, just paid for ports and asked for skin/sow/levi/invis and ran my way over. if you want to get fancy, pay a druid to port you to DL then evac you to EJ then succor you to the FoB zoneline in EJ. You are then a short run from cab, and sow/levi should be enough to get you there safely.

you even did the key quest at level 1?? impressive haha

just gotta keep an eye out. i have a friend that ran through the drachnids in FV to get to DL at like level 19... and those drachnids are way more dense than the undead in EJ
