Silverwing and the Scimitar of Lifestealing
 

I have not seen one of these drop in the 3-4 months since I have been in VP with TMO, and I have seen pretty much every other drop.

If I am doing my math right, that is at least 15 Silverwings (including repops), 3 drops each on average, and about a 90% chance not to drop the Scimitar, so 45^0.9 = < 1% chance for 0 scimitars.

We just had one drop on the 11th of June. Grats Luchino!

Isn't the proc broken anyways, because of the hoop nerf?

Spirit tap is blocked in general in VP because of the hooptaloot. So the scimi doesn't proc there lol. On top of Lifetaps just being gimpified, they should be basically lure.

They are exceedingly rare, however. 11 in 15 months. so 11 out of 60 Silverwings...

It actually has a higher chance on the lootdrop than some of the other items. Bad luck on your part I think.

The spirit tap from ivandyr's hoop is blocked in VP. The scimitar was not intended to be the same. Fixed, pending update.

As stated above, only the hoop tap was intended to be nerfed; the scimitar proc will be fixed with next patch. Lifetaps in general have era-appropriate resists though, to my knowledge. There are other threads about this.

Out of curiosity nilbog where did you get your drop rates from for differing items on VP tables? VP wasn't done very much while current so I'm curious as to what source you're using to determine rarity etc

I'm looking into these as I get time/inclination. There are some duplicate drops that shouldn't be there, some drops that may not supposed to be there at all, and some drop rates that need fixing. There are other issues as well.

In the end, I don't think anyone will be pleased.

Except the dev staff, Ele and Nirgon of course.

Where do you guys get info on drop rates from tho? It's not as if verant ever released them and you can't go by what players said since it was done so rarely and the loot tables are so large you could have scenarios like this thread where the scimitar appears incredibly rare but is actually quite common.
