Double XP loss after hell level?

Apparently there is double XP loss upon death in a level after a hell level. Is that correct? Was that on live, because I don't remember it?

Classic. It's normal.

It sure is. You always lose a lot more exp in 31,36,41,46, etc. get that buffer!!! Pretty sure it's classic. Something that brutal sure wasn't put in after the fact. Game only got easier every patch for the most part. Could be wrong tho lol

Yeah I really don't remember that. Maybe I escaped dying every level it mattered.

Absolutely classic. You weren't really 46 until you were at least a yellow and a half in. Otherwise, you were basically 45 and buying time.

The level after hell levels also moves absurdly fast, so it's kind of a wash.

You lose 10% of the previous levels experience required. So that's where that calculation comes in.

Ah! That makes sense - in a kind of draconian, Spanish Inquisition, self cutting way.

This has never been discussed before
