Worried about high-end play(ers)

I came to EQ Classic simply because I like playing EQ. I have little/no interest in raiding (I raid 4 nights a week in WoW currently), but absolutely love the challenging group content in EQ.

My worry is that as I level, my enjoyment will lessen considerably. Essentially all I see on the forums is that high-end content is permanently camped, raid bosses are fought over constantly (something that rarely, if ever, happened on my EQ server back in the day- we had a serverwide raid calendar), people refuse to group with hybrids or people with racial xp penalties, etc.

It just seems like the part of the community most drawn here is the negative type. I'm hoping this isn't true, as I get more than enough of that attitude from my own guildmates in WoW.

As a player who isn't very interested in Fear/Hate raids or anything, do you think what I see as a negative aspect of the community will even affect me? I currently roll an enchanter, and as the levels climb, their ability to solo suffers, so I will likely be reliant on groups.

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but you're fucking retarded. I'm so sick of people coming here and complaining about how other players MIGHT affect them. People play this game for their own enjoyment, not yours - just as you play it for yours and not theirs.

Here's a thought. Log on, make a character, play until it's fun and then stop once it isn't. Honestly, I really don't care what you do as long as you stop making posts on here preemptively complaining about players that haven't done anything to you yet.

Theses type of people are often also the most outspoken people on the forums.

Yes you should quit now. Well, unless you enjoy playing, then don't.

Glad I could help!

I've yet to have a bad experience with another player in game.

But everyone <3's me.

Ok?

I sort of agree with Loke, although I might not be so harsh. Lots of folks sort of have this toe in the water attitude. "What class should I play. Am I going to enjoy this? Is 20 hours enough time to play each week? Am I going to get carpal tunnel? I prefer walking backwards instead of forward, will that work here on P99? If a halfling druid falls in the forest, does it make a sound?" Seriously, just play and have fun.

The forums are like maybe 25% of what's actually happening on the server. The most outspoken people are complaining about things, the concentration of negative energy seems to dwell here.

Rage from a WoW kiddie that enjoys to grief no doubt. Your one of those people that wipes a raid and claims you have the right to cuz you pay $15 a month. Well your idiocy is wasting the raids $400 a month. In this games case it would just be time, but not justified either way.

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but you're literally exactly what I was talking about.

I have a character, I'm enjoying myself immensely. However, as I near the level of content I consistently see people bitching about, I am (IMO) understandably concerned that said bitching will affect me, too. I play this game to relive some of the old fun, and if the high-end content is difficult to enjoy because of people with your outlook, I can continually create low-ish toons and still enjoy myself. I am simply trying to get a glimpse of what others think. You know, the reason forums exist in the first place.

Here's a thought: Make an account, post on the forums, when someone posts something you are going to act like a dick over, stop posting. Honestly, I really don't care what you do as long as you stop making posts on here raging about how something you didn't need to read in any way, shape, or form that you grossly misinterpreted if you read at all somehow offended your delicate sensibilities.

You make this post in R&F and don't expect people to have a field day with it?
This almost seems like a troll man. If you don't care what people think then why the hell did you make a post here asking what people think?
