Crashing During Loading
 

Get onto server select screen fine, start loading character select and it crashes halfway through.

Anyone?

This happened to me the other day after messing with my UI - it was like it'd try loading the UI and it was glitched or something so it'd just crash.

Similar?

I just updated my UI and it started worked fine..

Other than that, I dunno.

Happens to me all the time, it just freezes while loading or zoning.

This may not be the case here but a MAJORITY of the time when you crash entering game its due to the UI not meshing well with the game.
Could also be graphics card and or driver.

It doesn't even get to where UI would be an issue, it crashes out and completely exits EverQuest before the character select screen even loads.

Right, exact same problem - occurred just after I messed w/ the UI - fixed by resetting the UI... three or four times*. But that's all I changed. :p



*Cause I kept doing it wrong.. shhh!

How do I go about resetting the UI while not in game? The only UI modifications I've made were the provided P99 links for the spells, other than that I'm using the standard EQ UI.

delete the UI_Charname_Servername.txt i would say, thats where the UI info is stored ... if that does not help its prolly a corrupted file in the UI it self ... deleting and reinstalling should fix it then

The Character Select screen is drawn from the default UI from the EQLS_* files. If you have moved, changed or deleted any of these then you will not load and will crash to desktop. In my sig is a link to a full download of the default UIs, as well as the newer updates needed to make them work.
