This is why Teams99/R99 merge will never work
 

Nilly has harvested so many blooming onions they can buy real players with pixel showers. Now imagine if Teams99 launches and staff is eager to get to the merge so they don't have to maintain three separate patches. Let's say 6 months classic, 6 months Kunark and 6 months Velious before merge. Then you dump RMT99's illegit pixels onto this infant server and that proves what exactly?

This is why I'm seriously concerned staff are going to reconsider the logistics and decide Teams99 is more trouble than it's worth. Because if you don't give Teams99 2-3 years to stand on its own before you dump illegit pixels on it, it's the equivalent of shutting down a server/wiping legit pixels.

Relax. Tainted pixels are a minor thing in this community. It's like the least worst offense you can imagine.

otherwise start over. i'd say the overall gains would more than negate the losses, and anyone worried so much about their pixels on a emu box needs to do something else. find a nice hobby like crochet or something.

That's exactly the point of Teams99. Keep illegit pixels on RMT99 and let Teams99 stand on its own.

When the merge happens, toons from R99 should only transfer with no-drops, and perhaps their manastones. Any red99 toons that want to keep the rest of their pixels can be transfered over to Blue, where they belong.

Well, Nizzar says Nilly donated $500 per month. Of course, we all have a pretty good idea of where that money came from if true. I honestly don't doubt it. But no additional bandwidth will be needed for a new server because R99 will be a ghost town when Teams launches except once a week on raid day. And launching teams will without a doubt increase donations. If the staff wants to eliminate RMT, make all items no drop.

Nilbog's idea for item loot would also curtail about 90% of RMT. That would also help maintain the population on R99 because only the true hardcore would play on teams.
