...where could a level 35 mage go and solo for decent exp? I am just about finished with Centaurs in SK as they are getting a tad low. Any help would be appreciated.

It seems that HHK and FP are out of the question because they are A) Over Camped and B) Spawn times for guards are fucked.

Did the HHK guards actually change too? From what I got from it, it was just guards in newb city zones.

HHK guards are like 17/18 mins iirc (yes on p1999)

There are 3 floors of guards in High Keep. By the time you clear out a floor or two, it's time to start over again. It's a fine camp.

No one will ever let you camp 2 floors. There are way to many people in that zone.
