Have you ever..

Hit a milestone with your character, like 39 for druids, or level 37 for warriors, or .. well the list can go on, and you suddenly lose interest in that character?

This happened with my 39 druid last night, unleashed my pack spells on a mistmoore group, had a group of doggies fighting vampires and hitting my group with pack regen and.. today i just dont want to play it.

Or my warrior from like a week ago, little shit couldnt hold agro worth a damn and now that im 37 with a couple of yaks I can hold it like a beast.. when they feel like working... and I just dont wanna play it anymore.

I think your issue is not having long term goals with your characters. You obviously have short term goals, i.e. 39 for ports/evacs and 37 for procs, but you need to think long term in regards to enjoyability with your character(s).

Goal, cobalt breastplate. Go.

Or perhaps, epic?

Also, it depends on the class. Warriors are monotonous. Autoattack and kick.

I chose the most difficult thing I could think of, I think most warriors get epic well before Cobalt chest.

Hmmm, in the line of easier goals.. participate in the epic fight of various classes.
Complete a set of planar gear (the good pieces).
Take on some of the solo/duo artist challenges.

Ya that happens to me all the time. Helps having multiple characters or multiple goals. Played my shaman like crazy till he got his epic and then I was like.... Now what?

Just need to set another goal.

Id suggest leveling to 46+ so you can start raiding the planes, or something along those lines. Its easy to lose interest in your character when all you do is kill for Exp instead of items.

Yea, nothing wrong with finishing with a character once you have completed your goals.

If you want motivation to keep playing that character find yourself new goals for it. You're obviously a goal orientated player.

I see what you all are saying, but I just cannot seem to focus on one character here on p99. Back on Classic I mained a paladin and only a paladin until around mid-Luclin and my monk was born.

My paladin back then I was age 15 18ish with my nose to the grindstone, farming plat for resist gear to raid to get the raid gear I coulda used alot when leveling, getting into guilds (if on bertox youd know but if not oh well), Clan ta Veren, Arch of Chaos.. but I dont think I want to do all that again.

But here, leveling is so slow compared to what we have now for MMOs and I need to set up little short term goals to keep going, for example I look at all the little things ill be getting from the next level. example: my druid was 37 a few days ago and I was so excited to get 38 to get that +1 point of mana regen, or getting level 29 with my warrior so my offhand starts double attacking

I empathize.

This happens to me all the time when I hit level twenty and assign my character a gloriously clever surname. After that -- the thrill is gone.
