Can't afford my spells
 

My halfling druid just dinged to level 5 last night and I still can't afford my lower level spells. Am I missing something? When I kill mobs, they never drop coin, only items. Is this normal? It took me forever just to afford a bag, but now I'm level 5 and only have 5 spells. I'm in misty thicket if that helps. Thanks.

Kill skeletons and goblins, even if they are green every time you see them. They drop cloth and rusty weapons that will easily get you the money you need for level 5 spells.

1. Create female woodelf.
2. Sit in EC tunnel
3. Take over Norrath

Agree with this. If looking for pure coin drops, fight humanoid (non-animal/insect) npcs.

You need to farm and keep the right items to sell to other players:

Bone Chips (5-10pp per stack) (Skellies)
HQ Bear Skins (20-25pp per skin) (Bears in East Commonlands)
Crushbone Belts (1 or 2pp per belt) (Orcs in Faydark/Crushbone)
Deathfist Belts (1 or 2pp per belt) (Orcs in East Commonands)

Was a monk in EC a few days back paying 30pp per DF Belt.
That could have set you up for 20 more levels worth of spells...

Ok, I'll look for skeletons beyond the wall and see what I can find. Thanks everyone for the help.

people camping guards 24/7 in MT on blue. tell them you will sell their spears for 20pp per run or less. or loot the shield cuz they always rot (1pp ea.) MT always has people in and out, too easy man.

I had this same problem when I came to red, how did I solve it?

1: Only buy essential spells
2: Kill anything with a weapon, they are worth a few g usually!
3: Kill any decaying skellies you see, 1-2 hit kills and can drop cloth armor/weapons, once again a few g.
4: On blue you can farm bone chips, HQ bear pelts, and spider(ling) silk to sell to players, on red not so much.

5: I'd be glad to help buy your spells for your first few lvls just send Stembolt a tell in a few hours when I'm online.
Most donations I get from porting I give back out to new players.

Seconded. You can make a lot doing errands and other stuff for high lvl players, think of a service and advertise it!
