Anyway to Have Two Copies of EQ on Your Computer?
I have three HDDs, one is my windows drive, the second my non-gaming program drive and the third my gaming drive. I have a copy of EQ: Titanium installed on my computer already that I use to play on the Irreverent server.
I would like to install another copy of EQ so that I can play on here. However, when I try to do that, it just puts up a modify/repair/uninstall window. I doesn't seem to let me install another copy of EQ: Titanium. Is there a way to put a second copy of Everquest on my computer? |
You can just copy the Titanium folder and name it EQP1999 and update your shortcut link + make the other edits necessary to play on P99.

I play live, P1999, Sleeper, EQMac, now belly up, EZ Server, and the live test server all on the same hard drive. Its gets interesting.

I fail to see how this is interesting, each one resides in it's own folder. Even if you were playing multiple ones simultaneously it wouldn't cause any issues.. and eq only loads when you zone so it's not even taxing on iops. It's no different than having a bunch of other games installed like everyone else has.

I know I could copy the directory, but what if it's the directory that has already been applied with the v30 patch files? My D3D files are backed up, but I don't have backups of the original files that were replaced with the patch files. Would that mean I would have to uninstall my current Titanium, re-install and make multiple copies to different directories at that moment before patching and replacing with new files?
This is for example if I wanted to try different servers or even live if I felt like it. |
