FF6 / Shining Force 2 / Fire Emblem 1
 

If these were the only 3 rpgs you had, which would you play first?

Specifically:

1. Final Fantasy 6 (GBA)
2. Fire Emblem 1 (GBA)
3. Shining Force 2 (Sega Genesis)

I understand the temptation to start reciting an extensive list of awesome old-school rpgs, but I'm mostly interested in opinions on these atm.

Hard to beat FF6 for me, the predecessor to a classic. Was hard to find in the UK back in the day, had quite a cult status about it.

ff6 happens to be my fav FF also. they really started going downhill for me after 7.

i played ff6 when it was ff3. used to rent the game every weekend. sometimes id get a diff cartrigde and would have to start over (or someone would delete my save) shit is classic as fuck.

Cool, yeah FF6 is the one that has been grabbing my attention most. Never played it back in the day, and I bought the game like 3 times, but got shit cartridges that didn't save (don't ask, long explanation) and I hate playing on my computer. But I found a good emu on my phone that plays them pretty well. I just have a problem, when I get in an RPG mood I just get a bunch and can't focus on just one (kind of like with Scotch).

Think I'll stick it out with FF6 though for now.

Shining Force 2 best game best choice.

I played Shining Force 1/2 sooo much. Did a play through on SF2's hardest mode with no characters dying ever. Was fun. It's 2d Final Fantasy Tactics, best.

Yep, /agreed with regards to Shining Force 2. That's actually the only one I've played before (from the list) and I played the shit out of it back in the day. I think I might play that one again after FF6.
