Shammy Armor Besides Banded?

I'm not having any luck finding large banded armor in ecomm trade or on the boards here.

Is there any other cheap large armor I can get for my Troll shammy in the meantime that is easier to find?

Also, can anyone recommend a cheap weapon that does more damage than a cracked staff?

I used a runed totem staff through my low levels. Splitpaw gear works for a while and maybe bone armplates/leggings. All are cheap enough and if you are lucky a kind soul might gift some of that to you. Why not try making yourself some patchwork armor.

I would do a check of the merchants in one of the cities also if possible. I got lucky the other day when I went to sell and seen someone had sold a large banded sleeve to the merchant I was offloading to.

Well I have been looking at auctions and I got some pretty cool stuff cheap, I bought this treant staff that does good damage and has root at lvl 18.

Do shammies use shields or should i keep the 2h blunt at higher levels?

2HB is pretty nice end-game if you're evil, for the shaman in classic. Gardash

But until then, a really effective combo (not the only one, but just an example) would be:

Tesch Val Sinisch
Charred Guardian Shield

Though Paw of Opolla and Pearl Kedge Totem would likely be better for non-solo situations, or where dogdog does all of the work.

At level 18 though, I think you're best trying to find someone to kill Soaring Brightfeather for you, to get the spear off of him. You'll have a half-decent range item for when you replace the spear on your primary. Then maybe do the Testament of Vanear quest.

As far as armor goes, I suggest Bloodstained Tunic

Thanks for that info.

Right now I'm level 5 and I finally found somoone to run to Oggok and get the large banded molds, so I have the staff, and full banded with a few stat items already.

If you're meleeing a lot, make sure to keep up piercing and 1hb. There are some great (an inexpensive) clubs and spears out there. And once you get a good shield and weapon combo, I don't think you'll want to lose the stats in the secondary slot for a 2-handed weapon.

Check caster areas too man - like spell vendors, etc.. Particularly in Neriak, since they need small or medium armors and would be likely to just ditch large on a vendor.

I seem to run into a lot of large ringmail too (ringmail works ok - but it won't sell back to the vendor for much when you are done with it).
