Damage shields and runes
 

Damage shields are not hitting back mobs who melee you if you are runed right now. This is a very recent change, because I was just helping lowbies in kurns a couple days ago (january 31, to be exact) and DSs WOULD hit a mob who meleed me while I had runes up.

Some of that code got moved around to fix some messages sent.

What is proper way for this? Should ds work if runed up and mob does no damage?

I need further input.

On NPC's, most noticeably in Seb, I will start attacking and I get miss followed by pierced by thorns. I think that is because they are runed so at least PC's are damaged by NPC's with rune+damage shield.

I am vaguely remembering that kind of behavior.

Older one of a guy who was seeminly runed and DSed, plowing during enrage as dolj spun in circles finding new targets or something:

I'm positive that DS worked with rune up on Live. I used to use it to PL friends low lvl alts and such with my Enc. Pull like 10 mobs with 2 runes up and just sit down.
