Guard Weleth doesn't respond to inquiries about the crate.
 

Trying to do this quest on my alt:

However, even though Guard Weleth makes the statement about the crate, he doesn't seem to respond to any questions about it, and eventually either despawns or walks away. Not sure what is up.

3. proper phrase ? "I will take the crate" I believe is correct phrase

I thought this was broken on live. Granted that was about 13 years ago, I just remember hearing/reading about this quest not working.

This quest for sure worked on at least EQmac (RIP).

to OP: Yes the quest works, so long as you have high enough faction. Quest was corrected and enhanced last year.

Edit: Actually there is one thing that might of tripped you up. Seems the quest is currently written to refer to the crate as that "damn crate" and that's what he wants you to ask about, whereas it looks like he is supposed to mention the "whole crate" and then you would need to ask about "what crate" instead.

Fixed, pending update. (until then, ask about the "damn crate")
