Yes, XP penalties stack. You have to multiply the percentages to determine the total penalty. I forget the exact percentages off the top of my head, but for a race that has a 20% penalty, you would need 120% of normal. That 120% would be multiplied by any class penalty. I believe hybrids (shadowknight, paladin, ranger, bard) have 40% penalties, so they need 140%. If you played the 20% penalty race (trolls I believe have this penalty), with a 40% penalty class, you would need 1.2 * 1.4 = 1.68, or 168% of a normal amount of xp to get to the next level.

I thought that only class penalties were shared, and not race...??
