price of manastone

Since I have been playing manastone price has gone from ridiculous to AoN ridiculous. So I was wondering, will this price keep rising or do you think when kunark hits it will drop?

i wouldnt pay more than 20k for one, ever. hell, be cheaper to toss a necro on retention anyways....atleast you can use them in planes

Druids and Wizards can still bind and port to old world zones. There is also the firepot room in Timm Deep that you will be able to bind at for a short while.

I wouldn't bank on that.

So for Vox, Naggy, Phinny raids, and Old-world farming? Sure, I guess... But I get a kick out of anyone offering 20k+ for a Rubi BP, when Fungis were selling for a 60k average on my server for almost all of Kunark.

Why blow the plat on old world stuff instead of waiting a couple months or so for the new gear?

#1 Items have inflated prices here over live. FBSS on tallon zek was like 7-8k for years. its 16-18 here.

#2 Rubi bp is a status symbol and it also has a unique look for most classes.

#3 These 2 items no longer drop and manastone still serves high utility even in kunark. Druids can powerlevel alts in old world much quicker as well as what pyro mentions, porting back to old world to mana up and returning to exp spot. Having one as a wizard is absolutely essential considering manastone eating epic's rune.

---

Manastone will continue to go up in price for the remainder of the server's existance. Eventually they will become very scarce and more & more new players will be trying to acquire it. Combine that with inflation and it's pretty easy to see why.

Unfortunately getting a manastone is basically the druid epic quest of classic, and that's how I regarded it. It's damn near essential. Oom to FM took me 15 minutes.

You have no idea how frustrating it was and how often I cursed the three stooges (VincentVolaju - the guy who rerolls weekly and posts a new 'how do i play eq plz' thread, Guido - Jeremy, and Barrelrider - some no-name) for constantly buying every reasonably priced manastone and reselling it, and posting on each others threads to inflate the bids. They went from 50k to 70k in two weeks. Some folks were actually trying to get 85 out of their stones. I still sow them and click mine whenever I see them just to rub it in.

Hang in there. Get your name out there, there are still folks who aren't interested in raping everyone on the server with their questionably obtained manastones. And if you have to, go into debt with everyone you know just to get out of the rat race as fast as possible.

Disclaimer: This post was comedy at the expense of people who made getting me a manastone harder. If this post resuted in watery eyes, broken knuckles, or a flushed expression, consult a doctor, because there are no angry mastodons.

Manastone isn't currently eating rune atm. It completely bypasses it for some reason--which I realize will be a larger problem come SOTFour

Was rune ever supposed to work that way? If I Rune a necro and they have their mana regen up then it's not eating their Rune but their hitpoints. I would think manastone/rune should work the same way as necro/rune.

I'm not an old eq dev, I can't comment on what was supposed to work and what was not. As it stands the server is coded for how things were and not how things were supposed to be and on EQL manastones ate rune (which gave the item a purpose once SOTF came out...bout the only class who had any use for it anymore outside of PLing on old world and enchanters doing enchants of bars D=).

i think manastone is at a pretty reasonable price between 80-100k. you cannot steamroll into this server expecting prices/economy are static between live and p99.

i'm sure a few of you know far better than i, but are the rest of you aware of how many multi *millionaires there are? 80K is nothing, it doesn't drop anymore.

Not to mention in the hands of a Cleric or Druid you're looking at PLing Old World 1-50 *ANY class in id guess less than 2 weeks.
