Vacation Time
So I have PTO (Paid Time Off) at my work and you can only keep 2 weeks retained at a time come June 30th of each year. Needless to say I need to burn 100 hours of PTO before June 30th. I have to decide what days I want to take off for the next 3 months before the end of next week.
Do you think Velious will be out BEFORE June 30th? I don't think so.... |
Same boat. Cannot accrue more than 5 weeks.
I need to use 5 days before 1 May and another 10 days before 1 Aug. They need to just pay me out. Jerks |
Oh man... If I could get paid out, I would only use like a week a year for a family vacation and make some mad bank at the end of the year.

If you work Monday-Friday I'd think about taking off at least every Friday and Monday for the next however long, and work a Tues-Thurs 3-day week ;)
Gives you a wide spread at least so you'd have some 4-day weekends. |
Actually I'm just noticing a lot of my department has already gotten their requests in. It doesn't look like I will have any chance at all for June. Everyone must have wanted it off for the nice weather.

Well I'm the new guy on the totem pole, so it is what it is. At my last job if I wanted more than 2 days off in a row they frowned upon it and made a big deal out of it. Here they are "Discussing" with me in meetings why I am not taking days off. lol

I used to work for Royal Mail (UK equivalent of the USPS)...and a lot of us would work a 6-day week (Monday - Saturday).
One guy booked 20-25 Saturdays off :D |
Screw 3 day work weeks, stick another weekend in the middle of your week for a month.
Take Tues/Wed or Wed/Thurs off instead of Mon/Fri. |
