Scaling XP bonus stops early
 

I tested red level 1 xp compared to blue. A level 1 ogre SK on red gets ~10% xp from killing a level 1 in feerrott, while a level 1 ogre SK on blue get's ~5% fom the same mob/zone. So 100% bonus, right? Seems like the 100%->0% 1->50 scaling bonus is still in place. And Sirken said that it is still supposed to be, just that the global bonus to xp on red should be gone now, and that new things are in the works for XP, but he suggested I report this anyway.

Anyway, in 45 I am not seeing any xp bonus at all.

I have logs of Tecmos doing bloodgills in LOIO on blue, and it took 125 kills to get through all of level 45. Leveling in the same place, same class, same method on red? Well, it took 25 kills to get 1 yellow... i.e. 125 kills to get through all of 45. Even if my math is slightly off, it is only off by a couple kills. If the scaling xp bonus is still in effect at 45 though I should be seeing at least 10ish fewer kills required to get through 45 than I saw on blue over a year ago.

Was the blue portion done during a global exp bonus?

The blue xping was done on october 3 and 4, 2012. I don't see any mention of an xp bonus in the server motd back then.

Besides, the scaling bonus at 45 should be ~10%. Don't think blue has EVER had such a small bonus for an event or holiday or whatever, anyways.

Once you hit about 30 on Red you can't notice any exp bonus anymore.

Glad we're keeping all the bad things about EQ classic, even things the Developers admit was a huge mistake.

Sounds right. It was 10% an hour with no exp mod there at 53. So 5% in hell at 54 and with the exp penalty should expect about 1-1.5% per hour.

Quit derailing my legit bug thread! Earning under 1 million xp in an hour on a 54 SK is obviously user error or someone trolling you.

At first glance, everything looks like it's in order. Will have to dig into it more.
