Rangers in Kunark
 
So I was reading your post about Shamans, and I read the reply about how they shine in Kunark.

What spells and whatnot do rangers get in Kunark? I was looking at the spell list for us, and be it as it is, its kinda already inaccurate.

Yes, I know we are shitty class with no use unless played by someone who is good...

Rangers really became beasts at soloing once velious came out because with it, they got animal fear. I can't tell you how easy and how efficient soloing became when animal fear was added.

It's actually a specific part of my EQ game plan to level a ranger to 22 and leave him there until animal fear is added and the price of the swarmcaller falls substantially =)

all this ranger QQ good grief. I fail to see the issue with Rangers.

Do they out DPS anyone? yes.
Do they out tank anyone? yes.
Do they have more buffs than at least 1 other class? yes.
Are those buffs useful in solo/group? yes.
Can they solo more efficiently than at least 1 other class? yes.


If you love the ranger class, play a ranger. If you played a rogue, wiz, mage, necro in live, it is not the class for you.

edit: have you ever seen a Rogue solo anything worth noting? no.

The weaponry for all melees takes a rather large jump, especially for 1Hs. That benefits rangers.

I always thought of Rangers as really awesome, which is why I played one to his 50s. Of course, most of my /played time was during the Kunark era...

--- Added Skin Like Nature at 59
--- Added FireFist at 22
--- Moved Bramblecoat from 49 to 39
--- Added Spikecoat at 49
--- Added resist cold at 55
--- Added Panic Animal at 22
--- Moved Jolt to 51
--- Moved Spirt of Wolf from 39 to 30
--- Added Cinder Jolt (fire-based Jolt spell) at 55.
--- Offense and weapons skill made identical to warriors
--- Added See Invisible at 39

Steel Hilted Flint Dagger
Lamentation
Jade Mace
Wurmslayer
Green Jade Axe

Woodsman's Staff

etc
etc

Weaponry all around (not just rangers) gets so much better with Kunark.

This is what I was looking for, I am not QQin about rangers I was posting that before people even attempted to try and cry about this class. I love this class, I played one from Velious on, I just wasn't that aware of what they got in Kunark...

To clarify, those changes were made after Velious was released on Dec 5, 2000...
