Hill Giants
 

How come Hill giants only drop like 10 gold and a few copper and silver? it used to be boat loads, i remember soloing as a druid and buying ruby's to take the weight off and sell them back, i even bought a charisma gear set to sell them back for almost the same as purchased.

Are you killing HG's in Rathe Mountains?
Have you killed more then one HG?
Are other people experiencing this same issue?

I've yet to see an HG in Rathe not drop any platinum but it is certainly less than it was onlive.

On average the amount dropped is somewhere between 8-33pp per giant, an occasional fine steel (that you can see), a lore lambent stone on about 1 in 7 (sells for about 4pp) and research components.

I'm not going to complain since HGs are soloable (in a practicle sense) long before Seafuries are but yeah, the money gained from them is not what it used to be on live.

I remember killing them with a full group back in the day (I think I was level 29 or 30) and everyone earned some decent money doing it.

If I remember correctly, Hill Giants could drop up to 50ish plat. They were the mob EVERYONE tried to camp for $$.

Oh and while xping on Druids in WC I killed the wandering Hill Giant there and he dropped 22p for me.

I never got 50pp off of a Hill Giant. I think it was around 20pp in mixed coin on the high end... though the items might make that higher. Certainly higher than the 10gp that was mentioned.

I've seen them drop between 4 and 38pp plus whatever other stuff.

Child support. Same reason the AC is more rare too.

Why?

Rogues stealth Pickpocketing all the hot plats off of unkilled Hill Giants. How would I know this? Because I used to do it on Live during my freetime. I also used to take the occasional trip down to Juggs in Sebilis to snatch awesome spells off of them to sell off.

I take that back. Just killed one now and got 5g 4s 1c. Of course it was a high level one too (hits for 85 instead of 70-72).

Not sure if I ever saw that on live. I remember 25-ish plat most of the time.

And on a related note, are there as many HGs in RM as there used to be? I don't see very many, but maybe they're being taken down too fast.
