Shaman Rage Line of Spells (Proof)
Hey there found proof of what it's suspose to do from a 03/2001 wayback search:
https://web.archive.org/web/20010305...s/level_49.htm Shaman spell "Rage" (level 49 spell): 100 mana 18m (duration) + 51 Dexterity (60 max), +51 Strength, +18 AC, +51 Agility (55 max). Self only, no spells may be cast for 6 ticks. Update: looks like it gets changed to the above on december 2000 (release of Velious) |
I too noticed the earlier version also draining mana continually, I don't recall it doing that in classic.
|
Supposedly it was bugged in classic to have just the regen and not the mana drain component - Uthgaard fixed it shortly before Kunark.
Is this really solid proof that there was no mana drain component then? Should probably find more evidence. |

This is 100% real and accurate description of Rage. Also note the website: The Shaman's Crucible. The #1 Go to website back then for shaman. |
If link does not work go to: http://archive.org/web/ and type in: http://www.shamanscrucible.com/ and then click on the spells.
Look at level 49 spells and "Rage" - you can view info on all spells 1-60 here. Rage does not drain mana nor does it add regen. |
Found this tidbit:

Also comments from the page here (please note that ALL comments on the site using Wayback say 1/28/2001 as the post date and is obviously incorrect, see here
http://web.archive.org/web/200106300...?Id=516&Page=2 as well for proof) Quote:

I clearly remember camping the Frenzy Impaler with my level 50 shaman in Kedge Keep and having Rage up...and slowing him and casting dots, etc...so it didnt drain my mana, but im not sure if I did that during kunark or velious |
Release dates for expansions:
The Ruins of Kunark (April 2000) The Scars of Velious (December 2000) The Shadows of Luclin (December 2001) The Planes of Power (October 2002) Given that the spell info for Rage was from the wayback archive dated 05/03/2001 and it references the spell having been changed in December, I would guess it coincides with Velious release. |
