i wouldn't be surprised if usa and germany make it out of that group. portugal depends a lot on ronaldo, so if you take him out then the rest of the team has to do a lot and they didn't do that in the last world cup. usa wants some payback against ghana which should motivate them in the opener. germany is my pick to win it all.

Deutschland is gonna take the cup. Let's go Deutschland! Unfortunately I'll be back in the states before their final games, but my Brazil trip is gonna be fucking radical. FirstWorld Cup adventure for me.

Agree entirely, though it will be a great experience either way, we just wanted to go early to be on the safe side of things.

I thought londan donovan was your best player? :P

tbh I havent had chance to watch usa play since last WC. On paper you look an ave team, but maybe the sum is greater than the parts? England are the reverse, have some outstanding players, but cant seem to gell well as a national team.

NOt sure germany are in top grove atmo, but they seem to grind out results evenin bad form.

WIll try and watch the usa matches out of interest....actually I think thats grps games could be a good watch all around.

The euro teams are gonna struggle int he 30deg temps. Infact I think its 50/50 for england to get out of their grp.

Nah Michael Bradley is the best player, for about 2-3 years now.

Klinnsman has sacrificed experience for youth for this cup because hes eyeing 2018.

regarding the USA team, if they have their eyes on 2018, they should try to have the team relocated to a more competitive qualifying zone, as central american teams (mexico excluded) do not have very competitive teams, and canada... do they even play?
I think some teams end up in the world cup more as a result of the lack of merit of the other teams than their own skills. (in past WC it was the case of saudi arabia, costa rica and a few more cases, now we have iran and honduras)
