SOE unbans old classic accounts?
 

Someone told me SOE unbans old classic eq accounts is this true? I tried searching for info but could not find any and their customer support is closed til monday. Also how hard is it to recover an old account with them? I remember my login names but not the passwords nor the email address I had associated with them back then.

I dunno about unbanning but I was able to recover my account from 2001 recently. All I had was my username and old e-mail.

You can get old accounts back just knowing toon name and billing address and name that you used. I was able to recover my moms old account like 2 years ago from 2000 and all i knew was her toons name/server and the billing info.

if you no longer have access to the associated email address, original payment information, or username/pw it may be very hard or impossible. worst they can do is tell you no, so give it a shot.

Thanks for the responses. That is good news. I just remembered my old email from back then was an @mindspring.com email address which I don't think exist any longer. Toon names/server/billing address is no problem at all though. =)

I payed $20 to have an account unbanned in like 2004-5. It may have been a one time thing, I don't remember having that option the second time.

How do you get an account banned on live?

By being a young douchelord spamming in PoK.

I imagine it would be a lot more difficult to get banned these days though, with having such a small population and whatnot. MQ2 and the likes are probably the only way to get banned now.

folks get banned/suspended on live all the time. the only real difference is that there isn't as much cheating directly at the cost of other players due to lower populations spread over much more content and instanced content...so fewer folks get caught as nobody turns them in (frigging rats!).
