Why does staff allow item MQ?

I don't ever remember being able to MQ items back in kunark and velious. This promotes contested camping of mobs. And makes it so average joes won't even stand a chance for most things in end game even if they have the force to kill it. Mobs will continue to be camped to hell and back because they can make money off selling the over priced MQ's.

Ones that specifically comes to mind are Ragefire and Lodizal. These both will be camped until the end of P99 simply because guys who can perma camp them can make a KILLING off the MQ. Rather than getting your item and moving on.

I understand Lodi will be perma camped for months after Velious launch but after a while it would start to open up if you aren't able to sell it.

MQ'ing will undoubtably be my final straw for P99. Not tomorrow or next week. But one day i know that'll be the reason I quit. :(

I'd like to hear some of the official responses that staff has given in regards to why they allow it and don't just make all quests including epics non MQable.

Can't MQ the piece for Haste mask. It's a combine in a container. Lodi is camped for his belt and shield.

It was technically classic but it never proliferated during that era like it has here. When you play this game a lot, and you spend 3 years in Kunark era, it gives you time to get your epic.... and then another epic... and then another, and another.

There are many class R guilds where all they really do is farm up epic MQ's like a big EVE corporation and bag their occasional raid mob. Take that away and suddenly if you want to make some cash you have to... *gasp* go to sebilis and camp something with your pals!?!? There would be riots.

Well Kunark was only out for like a yearish before Velious came out.

We didn't have the internet like we do today.

I'm sure it happened just wasn't publicized.

because its classic ... quit crying

TrendyDru 08-25-2014 12:37 AM

Exactly. I was 14 during kunark. I don't remember that's why I said I don't rember instead of "THIS WASNT CLASSIC!!!"

the only diff between ragefire with or without MQ is that cleric noobs would camp out and ask to loot the heart every time someone farmed ragefire for the plethora of non epic related gear he drops.
