Someone on reddit said you have never have to use sense heading:

"Nah, drop a sword on the ground. Always points north, also the clouds go east to west!"

Does this really work?

Totally works. But who doesn't have their sense heading to a passable skill level within like an hour of character creation?

Never used it myself, most maps are a box.
