Dear diary, socks and kitchen floors are a bad combination whilst eating cheerios. I had my butt against the kitchen counter and in slow motion horror I saw my feet slip out from under me and my whole bowl of cereal plopped right in my lap as the soy milk jettisoned 5ft away. I can only imagine that will be the high point of my day.

Oh speaking of captain's logs! I really wanna find this guy's journal, Donald Crowhurst, if it exists somewhere publicly. He went insane on a solo sail around the world competition, wrote 25,000 words on his thoughts on life, and threw himself overboard. His body was never found. I bet that's a good read.
