can't believe it took 16 hours to get special forces in place. shameful.

Apparently the building had 2 inch thick bullet proof glass, which is why snipers couldn't take him out, was the ex-Australian Reserve Bank building.

Basically the special forces was there the whole time, but they didn't make a move because he claimed to have multiple bombs around Sydney set to go off using a dead-mans switch.

It wasn't until he started shooting at hostages that they came in through the main entrance and mowed the guy down. Took a hostage down for that to happen though. 2 hostages + gunman dead.

Either way it was clearly religiously motivated, the gunman was a religious 'leader' and had a following that numbered in the thousands. It was no co-incidence especially since Lindt refuses to be Halal certified but media is putting it off as a 'lone wolf' attack.

Pretty shit that its making its way here... there are a couple Australian-born-Muslim nutters fighting in ISIS too, like some dude took his kids to Syria and was getting them to hold decapitated heads while taking snaps... I wonder how many 'Lone wolfs' can exist in a 500 000 member minority religious group...
