Factions in Paineel
 

For the Fiery Avenger quest, you need good faction with deepwater knights. Only way to do that is by killing mobs in paineel

So far on that list, the library assistant and guard korlack do not give faction.


There are more i am sure, but as i am currently lost as HELL in paineel, i have not been able to test it.

Not sure if all the guards are supposed to have it, but none of the lvl 35-40 guards had any faction hits to them.

Although I'm left to assume if Guard Korlack and Guard Menbuknar give faction hits there, the rest should too.

No faction on guards in paineel is actually classic. It wasn't fixed until well after velious:)

Guards should probably never give faction hits on this server.

kk, I can revert them back to no negative hits.

Did the guards classically give positive faction hits? Or none at all?

Nothing at all as far as I could find, I can keep digging though.

Nothing at all. I seem to remember having to grind lots of kobolds to get access to the guards, so I wonder if initial faction levels aren't too high. I'll leave it to deezie to give you real information you can work with though.

Did this change somehow effect how NPCs interact with guards? I just got killed by the banker when I attacked a guard, she jumped in to help. That has never happened before.

EDIT: Not the banker, sorry, it was the merchant next to the guard by the barrels. The female. Rallia Harpna. After going back there, I realized she seems to be incorrectly on the guard faction now. To me, merchants = indiff. Guards = dubious. But now Rallia is also Dubious, she must be on the guard faction, which is why she attacked.

Yeah, that merchant isn't supposed to aggro.
