The Sun set upon the congregation, passing slowly into the Rathe Hills to the South. Members of almost every shamanistic, intellectual, clerical, and combat guild across Norrath had a presence within the gathered group. No single faction by itself had the capability to embark upon the quest being planned and discussed. Only through cooperation among rivals would there be a chance of destroying the Necromancer of Kunark.

Please tell me this is the beginning of an ongoing story.

The Noble gazed across the magenta sky, his eyes fixed on some distant point unknown. Perhaps he could see something not available for observation by lesser eyes, perhaps he was consumed by thoughts so complex mere men and elves would never understand. Whatever his focus, be it tangible or transcendental, it seemed to amuse him as evidenced by the slight laughter heard when nearby.

He was unusually talkative for a Djinn of the outer realms. From the thousands of ethereal spirits I bind temporarily to the physical plane only a handful attempt to communicate with me, and less than that in any language I can understand. Vibarn told me of himself, of the millennia he had lived and the other Magicians before me whom had summoned him. He understood his presence in my world as finite and did not hesitate to display his unusual power to the foes I designated.

Hello, I just discovered this thread recently and spent about a day reading the whole thing. I wanted to say how wonderful this compilation was. A reminder of Norrath's beauty even in this day and age. :)

One question though. Was this a custom sky you used or a special addon? I don't recall the sky in TD looking like this.

The answer is I wish I knew. I have a bit of an odd computer setup (Linux Ubuntu, EQ thru WINE) and after I took the shot and checked it out in my screenie folder the sky came out very dark.

I was confused but delighted and made it my next post.

That's cool. :) Yeah that looked seriously amazing, which is why I was genuinely curious, because if it was a graphics mod like the HD models one, I would have totally done the same thing.
