Mage pets models

Is there a way to change the mage pet models to the original models instead of the half genie models that are in the game now?

Well, since the models should still be there, you could use the options editor if it works for you, maybe even use the in-game options.

Alternatively, open eqclient.ini in your everquest folder and look for the following line.
Quote:

UseLuclinElementals=TRUE
This tells everquest to use the high-resolution models for elementals. As you might guess, you should just need to switch this to the following...
Quote:

UseLuclinElementals=FALSE

Great, thank you very much for the info.

Protip for proper P99 enjoyment: Go classic models. For everything.

Several how-to's on classic spell gems and other stuff can be found here: http://wiki.project1999.com/Players:..._Customization

The .ini file for Everquest if fairly intuitive too, lot's of small options in there to tick for more classic feels.

Except wolves, because a sitting wolf that doesn't sit is just retarded

I don't think you even need to edit any ini files for this one: just click the "settings" or "config" or whatever it's called menu item, when you first start up EQ (after you agree to the TOS but before you login).

Strangely enough I had clicked luclin elementals off from day 1 and they still showed as luclin models in game. I went to check eqclient.ini and it showed as False. Maybe this is a bug? Anyone else have this problem?

Yep. Here's how I fixed it:

> Load up EQ
> On screen where you normally enter log-in/password, click OPTIONS
> Hit NEXT until you get to screen where you check which Luclin models you want
> Uncheck "Horses & Elementals"

This solved the issue for me.

That is the box I meant I had unchecked since day 1. Id you arent having any problem maybe it is a nuance of my system.

Sage Truthbearer 02-13-2015 05:32 PM

Ah, my bad. If both your .ini as well as the box unchecked and you're still seeing Luclin pets, I can't think of anything else.
