Population on server

Hello all,

I just found out about this Project 1999 and I am very interested in starting on this classic EQ server but first I need to know if it is worth it population wise. EQ is my favorite game of all time and I would give everything to play again but what made EQ so good was the game and also the grouping and raiding and I want to know if those two last ones are there on this server? Is there a good enough population to really deal with higher end content or are we talking about playing EQ for fun and just getting to 50 and not really be able to do all that is available?

Thanks!

Looking forward to starting!

averages 4-6 hundred on peak capping out in the 900's
off peak it's high 200's to mid 300's or so

i'm an off peak player but you can usually find a few people to play with at my low level (currently 20's)

during peak there are quite a few players everywhere from what i've encountered. from reading forums the higher level areas are quite full also

There's an active population counter on the Project 1999 homepage.

Yes, there are groups for all level ranges. Raids are meh, pretty competitive. But if you have no life, it'll be easy to grind quickly to raid level and compete for the content.

More people complain about to large a population than not enough of one. I think its great, maybe you can't always get the specific camps you want but there are always plenty of people on and around to level.

over 15k accounts

average of 600-900 people online at once

I am always pleasantly suprised to enter a zone and find a dozen or more people.

I was a little apprehensive when I first started playing.
But the abundance of population in lowbie zones was quite refreshing.

I've been playing for a few weeks, having a ton of fun.

Having to force myself to login to FFXIV over this, since I paid $75 for the preorder.

There were 44 people in Oasis one night last week. :) We're currently in North and East Karana hunting, and most evenings there are 12-20 people there with us.

I was logging in last night and a thought occurred to me. How awesome would it be if all the people from all those other servers all came to 1999?! it would be like playing at launch all over again.
